Veteran Broadway press agents Jim Byk and Shane Marshall Brown are the founders of The Press Room, a theatrical and entertainment publicity office based in New York City. Byk and Brown are joined by Kelly Guiod, who serves as Vice President, and Nina M. Ward as Press Associate.

Current clients include Hamilton, The Book of Mormon, Born for This, Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz, Only Human, Working Girl The Musical, Havana Music Hall, Beyond Babel, the award-winning web series Indoor Boys, Vineyard Theatre, actor/pianist Hershey Felder, The Wooster Group, Rosie’s Theater Kids, Hunter Theater Project, Theatre Row, New York Classical Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, and Southern California’s 3-D Theatricals.

Institutional clients have included Manhattan Theatre Club, Atlantic Theater Company, Signature Theatre, Vineyard Theatre, Guthrie Theater, Soulpepper Theatre Company, and Paper Mill Playhouse.

Film work includes Broadway press outreach for Birdman, Doubt, Nine, Dreamgirls, Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges, and Sweeney Todd.

Dance clients have included the Stuttgart Ballet, the Australian Ballet, and MOMIX.  

With Keith Sherman, Byk represented The Tony Awards for CBS and Tony Award Productions from 1991-1996, and Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery! for PBS.
