Jim Byk (Co-President) has been a Broadway press agent for 36 years, handling over 125 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. He currently represents The Book of Mormon, Manhattan Theatre Club’s The Balusters, and the Off-Broadway productions of Heathers, Music City and SMALL. This season, he represented Bess Wohl’s Liberation and MTC’s productions of Punch, Bug Queens, and The Monsters. Other recent credits include Farinelli and the King, Prima Facie, Patriots, Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women, and The Waverly Gallery. Prior to The Press Room, he spent 15 years at Boneau/Bryan-Brown, where his credits included campaigns for the Tony Award-winning productions of Proof (2000), Doubt (2005), The History Boys, Red, La Cage aux Folles (2010), The Norman Conquests, The Book of Mormon, and Death of a Salesman (2012), among others. Shane Marshall Brown (Co-President) began his career in theatrical publicity in 2005. Before co-founding The Press Room, he was a senior press agent at Sam Rudy Media Relations for over six years, where he worked on the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton, the long-running Avenue Q at New World Stages, and Vineyard Theatre. Diane Vadnal (Director of Operations) has spent 14+ years in entertainment working across both music and theater projects. She began her career in the music industry overseeing releases including Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording), The Hamilton Mixtape, Lizzo’s Coconut Oil EP, Dear Evan Hansen (Original Broadway Cast Recording), Beetlejuice (Original Broadway Cast Recording), Action Bronson’s Mr. Wonderful, TGT's Three Kings, Missy Elliott's "WTF (Where They From) feat. Pharrell Williams" and music from the children’s properties “Sesame Street,” “Barbie,” “Thomas & Friends,” “Super Simple Songs,” and “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.” She has developed social media strategies and secured brand partnerships for the Broadway productions of Waitress, Chicago, Moulin Rouge! and Death Becomes Her. Her projects have amassed three Grammy Award wins, 14 Grammy Award nominations, two MTV VMAs, and more. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring young professionals and spends her free time cooking elaborate dinners, cheering on the New York Liberty, and leading her neighborhood Girl Scout troop. Gerilyn Shur (Press Agent) has represented clients in theatre, film, and other entertainment entities throughout the past two decades. Current and recent clients at The Press Room include The Balusters, Hamilton, Magic Mike Live, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, Queens, Bowl EP, and Bughouse. Prior to joining The Press Room, she was a Vice President at DKC/O&M where she developed and executed publicity campaigns for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows such as The Heart of Rock and Roll, Ain’t No Mo’, Bob Fosse’s DANCIN’, Harmony, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations, All The Devils Are Here - How Shakespeare Invented the Villain, Pre-Existing Condition, West Side Story, King Lear, Hillary & Clinton, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus and more. Gerilyn also ran O&M Etc., the company’s creative division, that produced a varying assortment of activities including opening night execution, special events and creative consultation for clients across the theatrical spectrum. Gerilyn previously served as Senior Director of National Publicity at Allied Global Marketing and Director of National Publicity at Brigade Marketing where she oversaw national publicity campaigns for numerous films, filmmakers and film festivals. Louisa Pancoast (Press Agent) joined The Press Room team in 2022. Broadway credits include The Book of Mormon, Liberation, Punch, Bug, Eureka Day, Prima Facie, and Patriots. Off-Broadway credits include JOB, Get Your Ass in the Water and Swim Like Me, Symphony of Rats, Vladimir and The Monsters. Institutional clients include Manhattan Theatre Club, The Wooster Group, Out of the Box Theatrics, and New York Classical Theatre. Louisa is also a professional dancer, and has performed at such venues as the Park Avenue Armory, The Metropolitan Opera, Museum of Modern Art, and the 92nd Street Y, among others. Christian Heino (Press Assistant) joined The Press Room in 2023 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Entertainment, Fashion, and Media Communications from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study as well as a Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology minor at NYU's Stern School of Business. While at NYU, he served as the Vice President of Operations for the Fashion Business Association and as the Social Media Manager for Gallatin's annual student-run fashion show. Prior to joining The Press Room, he worked as a Global Wholesale intern for Oscar de la Renta and as a publicity intern for Frank PR, working on such films as John Wick 4, How to Blow Up a Pipeline, Mafia Mamma, and Nimona, among others. Nathan Souza (Press Assistant) joined The Press Room in 2026 and recently graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television and a minor in Communications. During his time at Fordham, he served as Vice President of the Screenwriting Club and wrote for an independently produced comedy series. Prior to joining The Press Room, he interned at DKC/O&M, where he worked on campaigns for clients such as John Proctor is the Villain, Dead Outlaw, Operation Mincemeat and Good Night, and Good Luck. Emma Sordi (Intern) is a student at NYU Tisch studying Dramatic Writing and Politics with a minor in Producing. At NYU she serves as the Academic Chair of Alpha Epsilon Phi, the Tournament Coordinator of NYU’s nationally ranked Mock Trial Team, as well as the Recruitment director of NYDM, the largest philanthropic organization at NYU.
